Last Saturday was truly a beautiful and memorable day as people from across Antwerp and beyond came together for the Antwerp African Feast.
It was much more than a feast. It was a celebration of African culture, community, creativity, connection, and togetherness.
The event was made possible through the collective efforts of more than ten African organisations working together to bring this special celebration to life. It was also an opportunity to showcase the inspiring work, initiatives, and projects being carried out in the Global South.

And of course, we cannot forget the food!
Visitors enjoyed an incredible variety of delicious African dishes, each with its own unique flavours and traditions. From one dish to another, the food was a beautiful reminder of the richness and diversity of African cultures.
Music That Brought Nigeria to Antwerp 🇳🇬🎶
One of the highlights of the day was the incredible performance by the Igbo Union Antwerpen.
They did not simply perform. They brought Nigeria to Antwerp!
Through their music, traditional sounds, energy, dance, and vibrant atmosphere, they created a moment that felt like a little piece of Nigeria had come alive right in the heart of Antwerp.
Celebrating African Creativity and Entrepreneurship. There was also so much to see and admire throughout the event.
Beautiful African clothing, shoes, bags, beads, decorations, artwork, and many other products were on display, providing a wonderful platform for African creativity, talent, and entrepreneurship.
Different organisations were also present to introduce their work, share the communities they support, and highlight the projects and initiatives they are involved in.
Community, Connection and Togetherness.
Perhaps one of the most beautiful aspects of the day was seeing people from different backgrounds come together to connect, celebrate, laugh, dance, eat, and simply enjoy one another’s company.
The Antwerp African Feast was a beautiful reminder that wherever we go, we carry our culture with us through our food, music, clothing, traditions, stories, and, most importantly, through our communities.
A huge thank you to everyone who cooked, performed, exhibited, organised, supported, volunteered, and came out to celebrate.
You all helped make the day truly special.
